Civic Duties

I just voted! Yay! Today was my second time voting.

I voted early because on Tuesday, it’ll be a mad-house at the precinct. Inside the Registrar of Voters building, everything was very smooth. There were many attendants taking care of various tasks. After I got my ballot, there were for spaces to vote inside the building. One of spaces were taken up by a display of “Register to Vote” stuff, even though that date had long since passed. I had gone with my dad, and he got his ballot materials first, and sat down on the other end of the display. Next to the display, though, was an idiot who got his ballot, and was sitting there READING the voter phamplet, like it was his first time! What an idiot! That’s an activity reserved for your house, not taking up valuable seats to vote, when I had already read everything, and just needed to mark the appropriate spots on the ballot. My dad and I both voted in less than 15 minutes, and that loser guy was still there! I can’t believe how long he took. I didn’t stick around to see when he finished, but I don’t doubt the fact that he’s still there right now, a good 15 minutes after we had left. After I had finished voting, though, there were a bunch of slots to vote outside the door. I got a few of those cool “I Voted” stickers, and left. While walking out to the car, I saw a few cars lined up for the drive-thru voting thing, which is just for people to drop off their absentee ballots.

New Design

I really like my new design. It took so long to get everything right, and the page still isn’t EXACTLY to my liking. I’ll continue to work on it for the next few weeks to improve the small nuances.

Orbit Gum

I got some Orbit gum today, by Wrigley’s on a recommendation by a good friend. It’s the BubbleMint flavour. I’m surprised how good it tastes because not only does it have the bubblegum flavour, it has a hint of mint, to make your mouth feel like you had just brushed. It’s sugarfree, and has the ability to blow bubbles! It’s the best thing since sliced bread!

Tomorrow

Dang, almost forgot that I’ve got to go to the Cal Poly application workshop to see if I filled out the form correctly. Dang, it starts at 2:30pm… I get to go home at 10:30, just to come back to school for the workshop…

I wish I could just stay home for the rest of the day Thursday and Friday! I’m getting tired of school, and trying to figure out what my group is doing for the stupid E45 (Materials class) project…

At the field trip that I went to today was supposed to start at 10:45am. The class that many of us have that were going ends at 10:30am. We had to get about 30 miles away in less than 10 minutes. Good thing the teacher pushed the tour back to 11:15am. We tried to drive as fast as possible to get there in time, because Eric wanted to get something to eat. At least people weren’t slowing down to look at the stupid pumpkin patch with the dumb corn maze. The map that the teacher gave us was also wrong. My passengers ended up looking for a big sign that said Parmatech. I ended up stopping at the 7-11. In the lobby, there were various awards for creating parts, and a patent certificate. Their biggest order that the company had ever gotten was from Motorola.

I thought the tour wouldn’t take more than an hour, but the teacher showed up late, and the tour took so long to setup because of all the safety glasses that had to be passed out. Then the tour itself still lasted an hour and a half. In the end, our tour group got free samples of some metal injection molded parts. The piece we all got was a part from a shower for Moen. We didn’t get any handcuff keys, even though they were making about a billion of them…

On the way back, it started to rain, not hard, but a few drops. Right in front of the Petaluma auto row, somebody had dropped a ladder, in the fast lane (one of two total lanes), so people were swerving all over the place.

It was a good field trip, but most of the time, our tour group couldn’t hear anything, because of all the machinery.

Ashlee Simpson messes up on her song. The lyrics come up before she started lip-synching!

The Day

Well, today it rained. I was supposed to work on some doors at this house, but I couldn’t because it was raining. Then we went to get a door re-keyed, and in that process, I had to go to like 5 different hardware stores to compare prices for various renovation stuff. Bleh…
