At the field trip that I went to today was supposed to start at 10:45am. The class that many of us have that were going ends at 10:30am. We had to get about 30 miles away in less than 10 minutes. Good thing the teacher pushed the tour back to 11:15am. We tried to drive as fast as possible to get there in time, because Eric wanted to get something to eat. At least people weren’t slowing down to look at the stupid pumpkin patch with the dumb corn maze. The map that the teacher gave us was also wrong. My passengers ended up looking for a big sign that said Parmatech. I ended up stopping at the 7-11. In the lobby, there were various awards for creating parts, and a patent certificate. Their biggest order that the company had ever gotten was from Motorola.

I thought the tour wouldn’t take more than an hour, but the teacher showed up late, and the tour took so long to setup because of all the safety glasses that had to be passed out. Then the tour itself still lasted an hour and a half. In the end, our tour group got free samples of some metal injection molded parts. The piece we all got was a part from a shower for Moen. We didn’t get any handcuff keys, even though they were making about a billion of them…

On the way back, it started to rain, not hard, but a few drops. Right in front of the Petaluma auto row, somebody had dropped a ladder, in the fast lane (one of two total lanes), so people were swerving all over the place.

It was a good field trip, but most of the time, our tour group couldn’t hear anything, because of all the machinery.
