Credit Cards

Why are people so free with their credit card information? In the past two weeks, I have overheard two different people getting and giving away their credit card information over the phone. The first situation was where I was just sitting around in the University Union when this girl gets a credit card from her dad. The information was so through, full number, name on the card, expiration date, and even the three digit CVV code that is usually on the back. The second instance was just yesterday. I was looking at the recycling exhibit on Dexter Lawn and some guy was walking around right behind me on the phone saying the numbers out really loud.

What is it with stupid people these days? I don’t even need to do any phishing to get credit card numbers! It’s way easier to just listen!

Found Keys Today

I found some keys today in front of the Cal Poly Library. There were a couple house keys, a car key, a wireless key fob, and a cast key chain that said “OLIVIA”. I’ve seen those kind of key chains before. They are made in an IME class on campus that is a casting class. She’s probably an engineer or knows somebody that took that class. I went to my car and along the way, I called the University Police Department (UPD). They told me to return the keys to them. First, I used the wireless key fob to locate the car, found the truck, and I put a note in the window with my contact information. I then drive to the UPD building and return the keys to the only person there, the dispatcher.

Later in the day, at about 5:00PM, I get a call from Olivia. She thanks me for finding the keys. Apparently she sat down to take a call and just left her keys there on the ground. I must not have been thinking because I should have asked her what she was doing and if she was busy so we could meet or something. Oh well, at least I texted her and asked if she ended up getting her car. If you’re out there, give me a call! I’d love to meet you! By the way, your truck was a bit messy and you left your purse/bag in the back of the cab. Maybe me finding her keys is a sign…

Cadbury Creme Eggs

They have gotten smaller! Here’s the proof:

Even on the Cadbury website, it says:

Why has the size of the egg changed?
It hasn’t – you’ve just grown up!

Wikipedia even states that their product has shrunk 12.3%!

Joost

I got into the Joost TV Beta (The Venice Project) for streaming TV shows. First off, it takes over my screen, by full-screening itself, and removing the tool bar. All the controls are hidden within the program, you have to click around to find it. Here are a few things I don’t like about it already:
1. The hiding controls / Clunky interface
2. Automatic full-screen when installed
3. Slow loading
4. Current lack of content
5. Low resolution
6. Commercials!

Hopefully I’ll find it works better in the future. That is why it’s in beta…

Passover Coca Cola

I’ve finally found the Passover edition of Coca Cola! It is made with REAL SUGAR, instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). It also tastes much better, sweeter, and is without the sharp bitey-ness of the HFCS version. Take the time to try it. It only comes around once a year. I found my bottles at the local Ralphs. The bottles have yellow caps, instead of red, or any other color, and usually have Hebrew writing on them. Mine only had the Kosher symbols on the top. Also, the ingredients will say “Sucrose” instead of “High Fructose Corn Syrup”.

Apple + EMI to Sell DRM-free Music

Seems like Steve Jobs finally got the picture and will start selling DRM-free music off iTunes starting in May. There will be a price increase, however, but it’s only $0.30, so a regular DRM-free song from EMI will be $1.29 and DRM’ed songs are still $0.99. Music videos will also be making the switch, but with no additional charge.
